The Future of Work Program is an initiative led by BHP and the Federal Department of Education, Skills and Employment. The purpose of the Program is to support educational pathways in regional Australia and help create a pipeline of skilled workers to support regional economies and businesses. Through the Program, BHP will create 1,000 skills development opportunities through funding for students undertaking short courses (Undergraduate Certificates and Graduate Certificates) and Advanced Apprenticeships. The Program is focused on the following regional areas:
• Pilbara and Goldfields, WA
• Hunter Region, NSW
• Bowen Basin and Mackay, Qld
• Upper Spencer Gulf and Roxby Downs, SA
The Future of Work Program team will be travelling to these regional areas and will be in Kalgoorlie on Thursday, 17 June. They would greatly appreciate the opportunity to engage with local businesses and community groups to raise awareness of the Program and how students and businesses can get involved. They are also interested in understanding more about the skill needs for local businesses to see how the Program can best support upskilling and training in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region.
To learn more about the Program and to speak to the coordinators, please attend the session on Thursday, 17 June from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at the KBCCI Boardroom, Unit 5/58 Egan Street, Kalgoorlie.
